About the Role

Our client is seeking an expert Remote Soil Scientist to join their agricultural research and development team. This position is fully remote, allowing you to conduct vital research from your own location. You will analyze soil data, develop soil management strategies, and contribute to the development of innovative agricultural practices focused on soil health and fertility. Your work will directly influence crop yield, environmental sustainability, and the long-term productivity of agricultural lands, supporting projects across diverse geographical areas, including those near Nelspruit.

• Analyze soil samples and interpret data related to physical, chemical, and biological properties.
• Develop and recommend soil management practices to improve fertility, structure, and health.
• Conduct remote research on soil conservation, erosion control, and nutrient management strategies.
• Collaborate with agronomists and researchers to integrate soil data into crop production models.
• Stay current with advancements in soil science and contribute to scientific publications and presentations.

• PhD or Master's degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in soil science research or application.
• Strong knowledge of soil chemistry, physics, biology, and classification.
• Proficiency with laboratory analysis techniques and data interpretation.
• Excellent written communication skills for reports and research papers, and strong virtual collaboration skills.
