About the Role
Our client is expanding its drug discovery efforts and is seeking a highly motivated Senior Immunologist to join their remote-first research team, supporting operations in the Eastern Cape region. This role is pivotal in developing novel immunomodulatory therapies for a range of diseases. You will lead research projects, design and execute experiments, analyze complex immunological data, and contribute to the identification and validation of therapeutic targets.

- Lead the design and execution of in vitro and in vivo studies to investigate immune responses and mechanisms of disease.
- Identify, validate, and characterize novel therapeutic targets within the immune system.
- Develop and optimize assays for screening compound libraries and assessing drug efficacy.
- Analyze and interpret complex immunological data, utilizing statistical software and bioinformatics tools.
- Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, and other scientists in a remote setting.
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, or a related life science field.
- Minimum of 6 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in immunology research, with a strong focus on drug discovery.
- Extensive expertise in cellular immunology, flow cytometry, cytokine analysis, and immunoassays.
- Demonstrated experience in leading research projects and mentoring junior scientists.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective remote teamwork.
