About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Computational Biologist to join their fully remote, innovative research and development team. This position is vital for analyzing complex biological datasets, including genomic, proteomic, and transcriptomic data, to uncover new biological insights and drive drug discovery. You will work closely with experimental biologists and data scientists to develop and apply computational methods for understanding disease mechanisms and identifying therapeutic targets.

- Develop and implement computational pipelines for the analysis of large-scale biological datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics).

- Collaborate with experimental biologists to design studies and interpret computational findings in a biological context.
- Visualize complex biological data and present findings to research teams and stakeholders.
- Maintain and enhance existing bioinformatics tools and develop new algorithms as needed.
- Stay current with advancements in bioinformatics, computational biology, and relevant biological domains.
- Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience (4+ years) in analyzing biological data using computational methods.
- Strong programming skills in Python or R, and experience with bioinformatics libraries.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Bash) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience with high-performance computing environments and cloud platforms.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective remote teamwork.
