About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Computational Biologist to join their fully remote, cutting-edge research team. This role is critical for driving biological discovery through the advanced analysis of large-scale omics datasets. You will lead complex bioinformatics projects, develop novel computational tools, and collaborate closely with experimental biologists and data scientists across the organization. Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and application of computational methods for analyzing genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data.
- Design and implement bioinformatics pipelines for data processing, quality control, and statistical analysis.
- Collaborate with experimental teams to define research questions and provide data-driven insights.
- Develop and maintain custom scripts and software tools to support biological research.
- Mentor junior computational biologists and contribute to the team's technical strategy.
- Present findings to scientific audiences and contribute to publications and grant proposals.
- Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in computational biology or bioinformatics, with a strong publication record.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and experience with relevant bioinformatics libraries.
- Extensive experience with high-throughput sequencing data analysis (e.g., RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, WGS).
- Strong understanding of statistical methods, machine learning, and biological pathways.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for remote team integration.
