Senior Computational Biologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Computational Biologist to join their fully remote research and development team. This role is pivotal in advancing our understanding of complex biological systems through advanced computational analysis and modeling. You will work with large-scale omics data, develop novel analytical pipelines, and collaborate closely with experimental biologists to drive discoveries. • Develop and implement computational strategies for analyzing large biological datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, etc.).
• Design and build scalable bioinformatics pipelines for data processing and analysis.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists and researchers to interpret data and generate hypotheses.
• Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to biological problems.
• Contribute to the design of high-throughput experiments by providing computational insights.
• Communicate complex findings effectively through presentations and written reports.

• Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in computational biology or bioinformatics research.
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics (e.g., Python , R, Perl).
• Experience with bioinformatics tools, databases, and public datasets (e.g., NCBI, Ensembl, TCGA).
• Strong understanding of statistical methods and machine learning algorithms applicable to biological data.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus.
