Principal Scientist - Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics; DMPK

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Principal Scientist in Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) to join their globally distributed, remote-first research team. This critical role will drive the strategic design and execution of DMPK studies to support the development of novel therapeutics. You will leverage your extensive expertise to assess drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion, ensuring the safety and efficacy of drug candidates.

• Design, oversee, and interpret in vitro and in vivo DMPK studies for small molecule and biologic drug candidates.
• Develop and validate bioanalytical methods for the quantification of drugs and metabolites in biological matrices.
• Assess drug-drug interaction potential, metabolic pathways, and clearance mechanisms.
• Collaborate closely with medicinal chemistry, toxicology, and clinical pharmacology teams to integrate DMPK data into development strategies.
• Contribute to regulatory submissions by preparing comprehensive DMPK study reports and summaries.
• Mentor junior scientists and provide scientific leadership within the DMPK discipline in a remote environment .

• PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in DMPK research within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Extensive knowledge of drug metabolism pathways, enzyme kinetics, transporter biology, and pharmacokinetic modeling.
• Hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS bioanalysis and common in vitro ADME assays.
• Proven ability to lead DMPK projects and provide strategic input throughout the drug discovery and development process.
