About the Role
Our client is seeking an innovative and highly experienced Senior Cosmetic Formulator to contribute to their product development team in East London . You will be responsible for the research, development, and optimization of cutting-edge cosmetic and skincare formulations. This role requires a deep understanding of raw materials, chemical interactions, and regulatory compliance. You will play a key part in bringing new, high-performance products from concept to market, working in a hybrid capacity that blends laboratory work with remote research and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and test novel cosmetic and skincare formulations based on market trends and consumer needs.
- Optimize existing formulations for performance, stability, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct stability testing, compatibility studies, and challenge tests for new and existing products.
- Source and evaluate new raw materials and suppliers, ensuring quality and innovation.
- Collaborate with marketing, regulatory affairs, and manufacturing teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks and documentation for all formulation work.
- Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in cosmetic formulation and product development.
- In-depth knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, surfactants, emulsifiers, and preservatives.
- Proven experience with various product types (e.g., creams, lotions, serums, cleansers).
- Familiarity with global cosmetic regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
