About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Microbiologist to join their fully remote research and development team focused on Food Safety. This role is critical in investigating microbial contamination, developing detection methods, and enhancing food preservation techniques to ensure public health. You will collaborate with a global network of scientists and food industry experts to tackle complex challenges in food microbiology. Key Responsibilities- Conduct microbiological analyses to identify and quantify microbial hazards in food products and production environments.
- Develop and validate new methods for the detection and enumeration of foodborne pathogens and spoilage organisms.
- Investigate microbial growth kinetics, survival, and inactivation under various processing and storage conditions.
- Assess the efficacy of antimicrobial agents and preservation strategies for enhancing food safety.
- Interpret research findings and contribute to the development of scientifically sound recommendations for the food industry.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Microbiology, Food Science, or a related life science discipline with a specialization in food microbiology.
- Proven experience in applied microbiology techniques, including culture-based methods and molecular detection techniques (e.g., PCR, qPCR).
- Understanding of food processing technologies, microbial physiology, and food safety principles.
- Ability to design and execute experiments, analyze data, and draw sound conclusions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
