Location:

Edinburgh, Belfast, Cardiff, Salford or London. We operate in a hybrid pattern, combining home working with attendance at the office. About Into Film Into Film is the UK’s leading charity for film in education and the community. We provide screen industry careers information and advice, support young filmmakers, and bring the power of moving image storytelling into classroom teaching. Role Summary This new role is responsible for supporting and developing our research, reporting and evaluation function.

Our ambition is to provide accurate reporting to our funders, supporters and education and sector partners and high-quality insights and data about the important role that film and screen culture plays in the educational and personal development and future career aspirations of young people aged 5-19. You will be key to developing and improving our reporting, research and evaluation work at Into Film.

In addition, you will support the Head of Impact and Research as well as the Leadership team to ensure the effective reporting and evaluation of the impact of our programmes for our funders and other internal and external stakeholders. Working collaboratively and closely with colleagues across the organisation, this function supports and informs our programme design and development, our income generation and our policy and comms outputs.

Main Responsibilities:

Support the Head of Impact and Research to grow and develop Into Film's research and evaluation function Support and feed into improvements to and implementation of our organisational theory of change, evaluation framework and impact strategy Under the guidance of the Head of Impact and Research, take the lead on setting and delivering high-quality research and evaluation design, analysis and reporting across the organisation Lead improvements to and implementation of programme-level evaluation frameworks, ensuring input from our programme delivery teams and other key internal stakeholders (e.g. fundraising, marcomms, senior leadership) Provide expert qualitative or mixed-methods research and evaluation support for colleagues, including but not limited to:
Providing advice and guidance on research design and methodologies Providing advice and guidance on data collection using focus groups, interviews and case studies Leading and championing best practice for qualitative data collection and analysis as part of monitoring, evaluation, impact and reporting across the organisation Take the lead on implementing improvements to evaluation processes to ensure effective qualitative data management and robust analytical and reporting processes Under the guidance of the Head of Impact and Research, work effectively with the wider Into Film team, including:
Keeping colleagues up to date with new research as it is published Working closely with the digital team to understand and develop efficient data capture systems Working closely with internal teams to ensure data is effectively captured and analysed for quarterly and annual reporting Work effectively with external stakeholders to support Into Film’s impact and evaluation work, including:
Supporting engagement with our Research and Insight Advisory Group Engaging with partnership research into the impact of using film in education, the benefits of filmmaking and film watching opportunities, and the impact of creative careers guidance and work experience for young people Effectively working with our established Youth Advisory Council and Education Advisory Group, ensuring their expertise informs our research and evaluation…
