About the Role
Our client is looking for a sharp and analytical Renewable Energy Policy Analyst to join their team, working remotely from anywhere in South Africa . This role is crucial for shaping the future of sustainable energy development by researching, evaluating, and recommending policies that support the growth of renewable energy sources. You will analyze market trends, regulatory frameworks, and economic impacts to advise stakeholders and drive informed decision‑making.
This is an ideal position for a policy expert passionate about environmental sustainability and energy transition, offering a flexible, remote work environment.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on national and international renewable energy policies, regulations, and market trends.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of existing energy policies and propose evidence-based recommendations for improvement.
- Develop policy briefs, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to diverse audiences, including policymakers and industry leaders.
- Monitor legislative developments and engage with government bodies and industry associations to advocate for favorable renewable energy policies.
- Analyze the economic, social, and environmental implications of proposed energy policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on policy-related research projects and initiatives.
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Environmental Science, Economics, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in policy analysis, research, or advocacy, with a focus on the renewable energy sector.
- Strong understanding of energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and policy development processes in South Africa.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and qualitative research skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
