About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Remote Research Scientist with expertise in Cheminformatics to join their innovative drug discovery team. This role is fully remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere. You will be instrumental in applying computational approaches to analyze chemical data, support lead optimization, and identify promising drug candidates. Working in a highly collaborative virtual environment, you will leverage advanced cheminformatics tools and databases to drive research forward and accelerate the drug development pipeline.
The ideal candidate will have a strong computational background, a deep understanding of chemistry, and a passion for applying data science to solve complex biological and medicinal chemistry problems.
- Develop and apply cheminformatics methods to analyze large chemical libraries and structure-activity relationships (SAR).
- Design and implement virtual screening campaigns to identify novel hit compounds.
- Build predictive models for physicochemical properties, ADMET, and biological activity.
- Collaborate closely with medicinal chemists and biologists to guide compound design and selection.
- Curate and manage chemical databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in cheminformatics, computational chemistry, and machine learning relevant to drug discovery.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Cheminformatics, Computational Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cheminformatics , with a focus on drug discovery applications.
- Proficiency in cheminformatics toolkits (e.g., RDKit, Open Eye) and programming languages (Python).
- Experience with molecular modeling, QSAR, and machine learning techniques for chemical data.
- Strong understanding of organic chemistry principles and drug discovery processes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote role.
