About the Role
Our client is seeking a sharp and dedicated Remote Renewable Energy Policy Analyst to join their team, operating from a remote-first setup. This position is integral to researching, analyzing, and advising on policies that support the growth and deployment of renewable energy technologies across South Africa, with a focus on initiatives relevant to Polokwane and the surrounding regions. You will play a crucial role in shaping the regulatory landscape, identifying policy gaps, and advocating for frameworks that accelerate the transition to sustainable energy sources.
This role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while making a substantial impact.
- Conduct in-depth research on national and international renewable energy policies, regulations, and market trends.
- Analyze the economic, social, and environmental impacts of proposed energy policies.
- Develop policy recommendations and white papers to support the advancement of renewable energy projects.
- Engage with government agencies, industry stakeholders, and non-governmental organizations to provide expert input.
- Monitor policy developments and their implications for the energy sector.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and policy briefs for internal and external audiences.
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Environmental Science, Law, or a related field with a focus on energy.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in policy analysis, preferably within the energy or environmental sector.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies and markets.
- Excellent analytical, research, and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in policy research methodologies and the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, suitable for a fully remote role.
