About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Energy Policy Analyst to join their remote team, contributing to shaping sustainable energy strategies from Vereeniging . This role involves researching, analyzing, and advising on energy policies, regulations, and market frameworks that impact the renewable and conventional energy sectors. You will be instrumental in identifying policy opportunities and challenges, evaluating their economic and environmental implications, and developing recommendations for government bodies and industry stakeholders.

This position requires a deep understanding of energy markets, a keen analytical mind, and strong communication skills to advocate for effective energy policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of national and international energy policies, legislation, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Evaluate the impact of various energy policies on market dynamics, investment, and environmental sustainability.
  • Develop policy recommendations and position papers for diverse audiences, including government agencies, industry associations, and the public.
  • Monitor legislative developments and provide timely updates and insights to internal teams and clients.
  • Engage in stakeholder consultations and contribute to policy advocacy efforts.
  • Analyze energy market trends, including supply, demand, pricing, and technology advancements, to inform policy recommendations.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or PhD in Public Policy, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field with a focus on energy.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in energy policy analysis, research, or consulting.
  • Strong understanding of energy markets, technologies, and sustainability principles .
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in report writing and presentation development.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote setting .
