Senior Bioinformatician - Genomics

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Bioinformatician to join their cutting-edge genomics research team. This position will be based remotely, allowing you to contribute from anywhere while collaborating closely with researchers globally. You will be instrumental in developing and applying advanced computational tools and pipelines to analyze large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets. • Design, develop, and implement robust bioinformatics pipelines for processing and analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data.
• Perform statistical and computational analysis of genomic, transcriptomic, and epigenomic data.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists and clinicians to interpret complex biological findings and guide research strategies.
• Develop and maintain databases and computational resources to support genomic research.
• Contribute to the interpretation of genetic variants and their association with disease phenotypes.
• Stay current with advancements in bioinformatics, computational biology, and genomics, and apply new methodologies as appropriate.

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Genetics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in bioinformatics or computational biology, with a strong focus on genomics data analysis.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Perl, and experience with relevant bioinformatics libraries.
• Hands-on experience with standard bioinformatics tools and algorithms for sequence alignment, variant calling, and gene expression analysis.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively in a remote setting.
