Senior Computational Biologist

Our client is seeking an exceptional Senior Computational Biologist to join their innovative research team, operating in a fully remote capacity. This role is critical for analyzing and interpreting large-scale biological datasets, including genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics, to uncover novel insights and drive discovery programs. You will develop and apply advanced computational methods, algorithms, and statistical models to address complex biological questions.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in biology combined with significant expertise in computational analysis and programming, contributing to cutting-edge research from anywhere.

• Design and implement computational pipelines for the analysis of high-throughput biological data (NGS, microarrays, proteomics).
• Develop and apply statistical and machine learning models to identify significant biological patterns and biomarkers.
• Collaborate closely with experimental biologists and clinicians to define research questions and interpret results.
• Develop visualization tools and strategies to effectively communicate complex data and findings.
• Contribute to the design of experiments by providing computational input on data generation strategies.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational biology, bioinformatics, and relevant biological fields.

• Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in computational biology or bioinformatics.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant bioinformatics libraries and tools.
• Strong experience in analyzing genomic and/or transcriptomic datasets.
• Familiarity with database management, cloud computing environments, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
