Our client is seeking a highly innovative and experienced Research and Development Chemist to join their pioneering team, working remotely from Mossel Bay . This role is pivotal in driving the development of new chemical products and processes. You will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments, analyzing results, and translating laboratory findings into scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities- Design and execute experiments to synthesize novel compounds and develop new chemical formulations.
- Analyze and characterize chemical products using advanced analytical techniques (e.g., spectroscopy, chromatography).
- Troubleshoot and optimize existing chemical processes to improve yield, purity, and efficiency.
- Conduct literature reviews and stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements and industry trends.
- Prepare detailed reports, patents, and presentations on research findings and project progress.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, and marketing, to achieve project goals.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Chemistry , Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in chemical research and development .
- Proven expertise in synthetic organic chemistry or polymer chemistry.
- Proficiency with various analytical instrumentation and techniques (NMR, GC-MS, HPLC).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a creative approach to scientific challenges.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
