The Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science at Indiana University School of Medicine advances biomedical research through innovative statistical methodology, interdisciplinary collaboration, and training of the next generation of biostatisticians and data scientists. Its faculty expertise spans neuroimaging, bioinformatics, causal inference, clinical trials, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, with extensive collaborations across basic science and clinical disciplines.
The Department of Biostatistics at Yale School of Public Health develops statistical and computational methods to address complex challenges in biology, medicine, and public health, with research strengths in complex data modeling, causal inference, health informatics, clinical trials, and machine learning. The department offers a collaborative research and training environment connecting statistics, computer science, and biomedical applications.
This postdoctoral opportunity brings together researchers from both departments in an interdisciplinary team focused on quantitative neuroimaging and multiview data integration, with applications to neurological and psychiatric disorders.
We are seeking one highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow interested in developing and applying novel statistical methodologies for quantitative neuroimaging and multiview data integration, as related to Alzheimer's Disease and the impact of substance exposure on neurodevelopment. The ideal individual will have a strong history of coding in R, MATLAB, and/or Python, and statistical skills in any of (but not limited to) the following areas, including high-dimensional data analysis, time series, functional data, Bayesian statistics, random object analysis, and optimal transport.
Experience with neuroimaging data processing and analysis is a plus. The fellows will work with an interdisciplinary team spanning multiple departments and institutes with a common goal of creating and evaluating novel statistical algorithms in healthcare and neuroscience. Working remotely is optional.
The minimum qualifications for a successful candidate include:
- Completed PhD in biostatistics, statistics, or a related discipline
- Prior neuroimaging experience
- Strong skills in statistical methodology development and implementation
- Strong programming skills, experience with imaging software is a plus
