Key Responsibilities- Evaluate, annotate, and benchmark AI systems for real-world computational biology applications.
- Assess the accuracy, relevance, and performance of AI-generated outputs in genomics, transcriptomics, and systems biology scenarios.
- Critically review scientific workflows and computational pipelines, identifying strengths and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide biologically grounded feedback on AI model performance.
- Document observations and findings clearly, including scientific rationale and actionable insights.
- Explain complex concepts in writing and verbally to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay current with developments in computational biology, bioinformatics, and machine learning for biology.
- PhD in Biology, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field, or equivalent industry or research experience.
- Demonstrated experience in data-driven biological research and computational analysis workflows.
- Proficiency with Python and Bash.
- Experience with R and scientific tools such as BWA, GATK, STAR, Salmon, Seurat, or Scanpy is ideal.
- Strong knowledge of genomics, transcriptomics, structural biology, or systems biology is desirable.
- Excellent scientific reasoning, analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working remotely and contributing to distributed teams.
- Experience evaluating AI, machine learning, or large language models in a biology context.
- Hands-on experience with NGS pipelines, CRISPR workflows, Alpha Fold, or PyMOL.
- Published computational biology or bioinformatics research, or open-source project contributions.
Work Terms Remote contract engagement.
Compensation $40 to $60 per hour.
