The Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow. The Postdoctoral Fellow will participate in studies that examine life course influences on health across the life course, including midlife women’s health and aging-related conditions, using data from the longitudinal pre-birth Project Viva cohort (www.project viva.org). The candidate will work under the supervision of Drs.

Emily Oken and Izzuddin Aris. The fellow will be employed by the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute and will be appointed as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School.

• Analyze large, complex data from multiple sources, such as survey data, environmental and dietary exposure data, and research visit data
• Make effective presentations of the analysis results to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Prepare articles for peer-reviewed publications, as well as reports and presentations
• Participate in team meetings to help shape the direction of the existing research projects
• Develop new research ideas or help prepare proposals
• Perform out-of-the-box thinking, collaborate with others, and make a difference every day!
• Other duties and projects as assigned

• Doctoral degree such as an MD, or PhD (preferred) in Epidemiology, Nutrition, Environmental Health, or related field
• Quantitative analytical skills and experience analyzing large data sets
• Proficiency in at least one statistical programming language (SAS, STATA, R)
• At least one first author publication preferred
• Interest or experience in the field of Developmental Origins of Health and Disease or women’s health is preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Self-motivated and able to work well independently, while also working well with teams

Must be able to work under normal office conditions and work from home as required. Work may require simultaneous use of a telephone/headset and PC/keyboard and sitting for extended durations. May be required to work additional hours beyond standard work schedule.
