Our client, an innovative research organization, is seeking a Senior Systems Biologist to join their growing, remote-first team. This role is dedicated to unraveling the complexity of biological systems through the integration of multi-omics data, computational modeling, and experimental validation. You will be responsible for developing holistic models of biological networks to understand disease mechanisms and identify novel therapeutic targets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong interdisciplinary background, combining expertise in biology, computational science, and mathematics, with a proven ability to apply systems biology approaches to complex biological problems.
This position offers the flexibility of remote work while contributing to high-impact preclinical research.
- Develop and apply systems biology approaches to analyze complex biological datasets, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics.
- Construct computational models of biological networks and pathways to understand cellular functions, disease pathogenesis, and drug responses.
- Integrate diverse data types to generate hypotheses and identify key regulatory nodes or potential therapeutic targets.
- Collaborate closely with experimental biologists, pharmacologists, and bioinformaticians to design experiments that validate computational predictions.
- Develop and implement algorithms for network analysis, pathway analysis, and quantitative modeling.
- Interpret model outputs and communicate findings effectively to both scientific and non-scientific audiences through presentations and written reports.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in systems biology, computational biology, and relevant biological domains.
- Contribute to scientific publications and presentations at relevant conferences.
- Ph.D. in Systems Biology, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, or a related quantitative field with a strong biological component.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant post-doctoral or industry experience applying systems biology principles.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in scientific computing (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB).
- Experience with biological network construction and analysis tools (e.g., Cytoscape, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis).
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, dynamical systems, and/or machine learning techniques.
- Familiarity with experimental biological data generation and interpretation.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Effective remote communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in distributed teams.
Our client offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and the flexibility of a fully remote work arrangement.
