You will help evaluate and improve AI systems by working on difficult research problems in biology and related life sciences. The work combines scientific reasoning, Python programming, data analysis, and detailed review of technical solutions.
Your work may cover medicine and biomedical science, computational biology, neuroscience, molecular and cellular biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, genetics and genomics, ecology and evolutionary biology, biostatistics, or biological data science.
- Create and solve technically rigorous research problems in a relevant life sciences specialty.
- Build reproducible Python analyses, models, simulations, and data-processing workflows.
- Review scientific solutions and code for correctness, clarity, completeness, and sound reasoning.
- Analyze scientific data and validate computational results.
- Find errors or weaknesses in scientific explanations, calculations, and implementations.
This is a fully remote contractor role with a flexible part-time schedule. The role is listed as entry level, but it requires substantial research experience and practical scientific computing skills.
- $60 to $120 per hour equivalent, paid per task that meets the project specifications.
- About 15 hours per week on a flexible schedule.
- Fully remote, open to candidates in the countries specified for this role.
- Professional fluency in English.
- A PhD, MD, or master's degree in a relevant life sciences discipline, or equivalent research accomplishments.
- Substantial research experience shown through publications, thesis work, computational projects, or industry research.
- Practical Python experience in scientific computing, data analysis, modeling, or simulation.
- Familiarity with Num Py, pandas, Sci Py, Matplotlib, scikit-learn, Jupyter, or comparable domain-specific libraries.
