About the Role
Our client, a leading biopharmaceutical company dedicated to transforming patient care through innovative science, is seeking a Senior Systems Biologist to join their translational medicine division. This role is fully remote, allowing you to contribute to vital research from your home office. You will focus on integrating and analyzing complex biological data from preclinical and clinical studies to uncover key pathways and mechanisms relevant to disease and drug response.
The ideal candidate possesses a Ph.D. in Systems Biology, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field, with a strong background in network biology, pathway analysis, and statistical modeling. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, translational scientists, and data scientists, to drive the development of precision medicine strategies. We seek individuals with a passion for deciphering biological complexity and translating these insights into tangible clinical applications within a remote-first setting.
- Develop and apply systems biology approaches to analyze large-scale multi-omics datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics).
- Construct and analyze biological networks and pathways to understand disease mechanisms and drug response.
- Integrate data from various sources, including preclinical models and clinical trials.
- Identify biomarkers predictive of drug efficacy and patient stratification.
- Collaborate with translational medicine teams to design studies and interpret results within a clinical context.
- Develop computational models to simulate biological systems and predict outcomes.
- Communicate findings clearly and effectively to both scientific and clinical audiences.
- Stay current with advancements in systems biology, computational biology, and translational medicine.
- Contribute to research proposals, publications, and presentations.
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to team knowledge building.
- Ph.D. in Systems Biology, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in systems biology or a related computational life science discipline.
- Proven experience in analyzing multi-omics data and constructing biological networks.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and relevant bioinformatics/systems biology libraries.
- Experience with pathway analysis tools and databases (e.g., KEGG, Gene Ontology, Reactome).
- Familiarity with machine learning techniques applied to biological data.
- Understanding of fundamental biological processes and disease mechanisms.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective collaboration in a remote environment.
