About

The Role

What if your sense of fairness and eye for nuance could directly shape how AI behaves — for millions of people? We're looking for thoughtful, curious individuals to join us as AI Ethics Reviewers, evaluating AI-generated content for bias, safety issues, and ethical concerns.

This is meaningful, flexible remote work that puts your critical thinking to use on one of the most important challenges in tech today. No formal ethics or AI background required — just a genuine interest in fairness and a sharp, analytical mind.

  • Organization:
    Alignerr
  • Type:
    Hourly Contract
  • Location:

    Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
  • Review AI-generated content and outputs for potential bias, stereotypes, or harmful material
  • Evaluate whether AI responses are safe, appropriate, and fair across diverse audiences and contexts
  • Identify ethical concerns and document them with clear, structured written feedback
  • Apply fairness and safety guidelines consistently across a wide range of topics and content types
  • Help AI research teams understand where systems fall short — and why it matters
Who You Are
  • Genuinely interested in fairness, ethics, social impact, or responsible technology
  • A strong critical thinker who can hold multiple perspectives at once
  • Attuned to nuance, cultural context, and the ways language can include or exclude
  • A clear and confident written communicator
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
  • No formal background in AI, ethics, or social science required
Nice to Have
  • Experience in journalism, policy, education, social work, or advocacy
  • Familiarity with discussions around AI safety, algorithmic bias, or responsible tech
  • Background in qualitative research, content review, or critical writing
Why Join Us
  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects with leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule, wherever you are
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of task-based, meaningful work
  • Contribute to AI development that directly affects how fairly and safely these systems behave in the real world
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
