Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk – Fred Meyer
Join Fred Meyer as an Online Grocery Pick-Up Clerk. In this role you select and gather products for customers' online orders, process coupons and payments, and deliver orders to customers' vehicles upon arrival. You provide a positive customer‑service experience, ensuring freshness, quality, and accuracy. The position is based in Portland, Oregon.
Responsibilities- Select and gather products for customers' online orders with attention to freshness and quality.
- Assemble customers' orders, process coupons and payment, and load orders into cars when customers arrive.
- Scan and bag orders on the go while following bagging standards.
- Communicate substitutions or exceptions to customers at pick‑up.
- Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
- Adhere to food safety procedures, local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
- Receive orders from Order Selector, store products in optimal temperature zones, and follow directions given in the note section.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
- Report pricing, scanning, and item location discrepancies to the store e‑Commerce supervisor.
- Inspect equipment and notify the store Pick‑Up supervisor of items needing repair.
- Perform required opening and closing procedures and assist in training new e‑Commerce team members.
- Meet or exceed productivity standards and work cooperatively in a high‑pace environment.
- Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Work within the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Ability to read shelf tags.
- Basic math skills (e.g., counting, addition, and subtraction).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience as a personal shopper or in a production‑oriented or warehouse environment, stocking shelves, or cashier experience.
