Job Description

Online Grocery Pick‑Up Clerk role at Kroger Mountain View Foods in the Salt Lake City area. This position involves selecting and gathering products for customers’ online orders with emphasis on freshness and quality, assembling orders, processing coupons and payments, loading orders into customers’ vehicles at pick‑up, and providing a welcoming customer service experience.

• Select and gather products for customers’ online orders efficiently and with attention to freshness and quality.
• Initiate and complete the selection process for online orders.
• Assemble customers’ online orders, process coupons and payment, and deliver and load orders into customers’ cars when they arrive for pick‑up.
• Scan and bag orders on the go while following all bagging standards.
• Communicate any substitutions or exceptions to customers’ orders at pick‑up.
• Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, food‑safety procedures, and company guidelines.
• Store products in optimal temperature zones after receiving customer orders according to guidelines.
• Follow directions given in the note section.
• Ensure quality and freshness of all items chosen.
• Communicate with customers via portable phone and respond to calls professionally and promptly.
• Retrieve orders from staging locations, verify accuracy, and load into customers’ cars.
• Provide a positive customer service experience that makes customers return for online shopping.
• Process orders through the point‑of‑sale system.
• Determine appropriate substitutions for out‑of‑stock items following policies.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
• Report pricing, scanning, and item‑location discrepancies and invalid temperature types to the e‑Commerce supervisor.
• Inspect equipment and notify the supervisor or other management of items needing repair.
• Perform required opening and closing procedures.
• Assist in training new e‑Commerce team members.
• Meet or exceed productivity standards.
• Work cooperatively in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflict reasonably, nonconfrontationally, and cooperatively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Ability to work without supervision.
• Ability to read shelf tags.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Experience as a personal shopper or in a production‑oriented or warehouse environment, stocking shelves, or as a cashier.
