Select and gather products for customers' online orders, ensuring freshness and quality. Assemble orders, process coupons and payments, and load orders into customers' vehicles when they arrive for pickup. Provide a positive customer service experience that encourages repeat online shopping.

Minimum Position Qualifications
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Ability to read shelf tags.
  • Basic math skills (e.g., counting, addition, and subtraction).
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.
Desired Previous Experience
  • Any experience as a personal shopper or in a production‑oriented or warehouse environment, stocking shelves, or experience as a cashier.
Essential Job Functions
  • Online Grocery Pick‑Up Clerk working as In‑Store Grocery Shopper is responsible for selecting and gathering products for customers' online orders in the most efficient manner with attention to freshness and quality.
  • In‑Store Grocery Shopper initiates and completes the selection process for customers' online orders.
  • Online Grocery Pick‑Up team assembles customers' online orders, processes coupons and payment, and delivers and loads orders to cars when customers arrive at the store for pickup.
  • In‑Store Grocery Shopper scans and bags orders on the go while following all bagging standards.
  • E‑Commerce team including Online Grocery Pick‑Up associate communicates any substitutions or exceptions to customers' orders at the time of pickup.
  • Meets or exceeds customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
  • Adheres to local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
  • Receives customers' orders from Order Selector according to guidelines and stores products in optimal temperature zones.
  • Reads and follows directions given in the note section.
  • Ensures quality and freshness of all items chosen.
  • Communicates with customers via a portable phone and responds to calls in a professional and timely manner.
  • Retrieves each customer's order from all staging locations and ensures order accuracy, loading the order into customers' cars.
  • Provides a positive customer service experience that makes customers want to return to online shopping.
  • Processes the orders through the point‑of‑sale (POS) system.
  • Follows policies and procedures to determine appropriate substitutions in the event of an out‑of‑stock.
  • Maintains organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
  • Reports pricing, scanning, and item location discrepancies and invalid temperature types to the store e‑Commerce supervisor.
  • Inspects equipment and notifies store Pickup supervisor or other store management of items in need of repair.
  • Performs required opening and closing procedures.
  • Assists in training new e‑Commerce team members.
  • Meets or exceeds productivity standards.
  • Has the ability to work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Has the ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
  • Has the ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  • Has the ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
  • Provides support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
