Online Grocery Pick‑Up Clerk (In‑Store Grocery Shopper)
Job OverviewResponsible for selecting, gathering, and processing online grocery orders in the most efficient manner with attention to freshness and quality. Assemble customer orders, process coupons and payment, and deliver and load orders to customers’ cars when they arrive for pick‑up. Provide a positive customer service experience that encourages repeat online shopping while demonstrating the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

- Select and gather products for customers’ online orders with attention to freshness and quality.
- Initiate and complete the selection process for online orders.
- Assemble customer orders, process coupons and payment, and load orders into customers’ cars.
- Scan and bag orders on the go while following bagging standards.
- Communicate substitutions or exceptions to customers at pick‑up.
- Meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, and cleanliness.
- Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, food safety procedures, and company guidelines.
- Receive customer orders from Order Selector, store products in optimal temperature zones, and ensure order accuracy.
- Use a portable phone to communicate with customers and respond to calls professionally.
- Process orders through the point‑of‑sale system and determine appropriate substitutions when items are out of stock.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of staging areas and equipment.
- Report pricing, scanning, item‑location discrepancies, and temperature issues to the e‑Commerce supervisor.
- Inspect equipment and notify management of items in need of repair.
- Perform required opening and closing procedures.
- Assist in training new e‑Commerce team members.
- Meet or exceed productivity standards.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
- Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Ability to read shelf tags.
- Basic math skills (e.g., counting, addition, and subtraction).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience as a personal shopper, in a warehouse or shelf‑stocking environment, or as a cashier is desired.
