Overview

Our stores are fast‑paced environments where no two days are the same, especially during our busiest, most magical time of the year. As an Online Assistant you support a joyful shopping experience for our online customers, ensuring they receive every product they order from Sainsbury’s.

• You must be above the school‑leaver age in your country (see ).
• If the shifts cover hours earlier than 6 am or later than 11 pm, you will need to be at least 18 years old.
• You must have Right‑to‑Work eligibility in the UK.
• You must be able to lift up to 15 kg and have basic digital skills.

• Picking and selecting the best quality products on the shop floor that online customers have ordered, or providing substitutions where products are out of stock.
• Using a handheld device to plan your route, locate items and keep track of time for each pick.
• Dealing with customer queries, processing orders and loading vans for Home Delivery Drivers.
• Providing assistance and proactive support to customers, ensuring a high level of service.
• Building knowledge about products, services and promotions to make recommendations.
• Working flexibly across the store as required.

• Comfortable with early morning starts (often 4 am) and a fast‑paced, physical, high‑energy environment.
• Friendly and welcoming, with genuine enthusiasm for helping customers.
• Initiative to solve problems and take responsibility for owning tasks.
• Willingness to work flexibly and productively to a high standard across the store.
• Comfortable in learning new digital tools and technology.
• Great attention to detail, keeping the store clean and clutter‑free.

• Night shift premium of £2.45 per hour worked between midnight and 5 am.
