About the Role:
We are expanding our team and are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Retail Consultant specialising in golf to work directly with golf retailers. The ideal candidate will provide expert guidance on optimising retail operations, merchandising, business planning, staff training and customer engagement strategies within the golf retail sector. You will act as a trusted partner to the retailer, helping them enhance their business through improved retail sales, inventory management, communication, customer experience and relations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Retail Strategy Consultation: Provide tailored retail business advice to our PGA Professional partners, helping them maximise their revenue and grow their business.
- Merchandising: Assist with brand selection based on market trends, customer preferences, and profitability potential as well as in-store merchandising.
- Sales Optimisation: Advise on sales techniques, product positioning, and promotional strategies to increase revenue. Work with Partners to develop personalised sales approaches that fit their clientele and market.
- Inventory Management: Guide retailers on effective stock control techniques to minimise costs and stock wastage while ensuring the right products are available to their customer base.
- Customer Experience Enhancement: Help develop in-store strategies to boost customer engagement, loyalty, and retention through superior service.
- Retail Technology Solutions: Advise on retail management systems and point-of-sale technologies that improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Marketing and Promotion: Support Partners in creating and executing marketing campaigns in store to drive traffic and increase sales, including social media engagement, email marketing, and seasonal promotions.
- Financial Planning: Assist in setting financial goals, analysing profit margins, and implementing strategies to improve overall business performance.
- Training and Development: Provide training to retailers and their staff on best practices, product knowledge, and customer service skills.
Requirements
- Industry Knowledge: A good understanding of the golf industry, including products, brands, and customer preferences.
- Retail Expertise: Proven experience in retail management, merchandising, and sales strategies within a golf or sports-related environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with retailers and suppliers.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with retail management software, e-commerce platforms, and digital marketing tools.
- Highly Motivated & Independent: Ability to work independently, manage multiple Partners as well as play your part in a highly experienced team and contribute to the ongoing development of the company.
- Clean and current driving licence essential.
Additional Information:
A fully expensed car, laptop and mobile phone will be provided (subject to P11d requirements).
The successful applicant will receive a salary commensurate with experience.

A discretionary bonus is paid annually, subject to company and individual performance.
