Assistant Buyer

This is a hybrid role that can be based in Toronto, ON.

Please note, candidates must be located within 60 miles of the Canada office.

  • Responsibilities

  • Purchase incoming merchandise as requested.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels in all warehouse locations.
  • Assist buyer to maintain stable supply, take necessary actions to prevent stock out or expedite deliveries.
  • Place, track, reschedule or cancel orders as requested.
  • Issue stocking and special purchase orders as required and ensure correctness on orders for all branches.
  • Assist in maintaining supplier price, delivery and quality expectations and escalate when appropriate.
  • Help to manage the inventory by doing stock balances, transfers, ordering, etc. as requested.
  • Collaborate with the warehouses and vendors to resolve shipping problems, overages, etc.
  • Interact with marketing to produce monthly flyers by giving product feedback, promos, pricing, etc. in absence of PM.
  • Correspond with all departments and vendor partners as needed on the phone and via email.
  • Interact with inside and outside sales by answering questions/ problems via phone and/or e-mail.
  • Correspond with vendors via phone or e-mail.
  • Requirements

  • Minimum Associates Degree in related field preferred or equivalent in experience required in purchasing of finished goods.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant and technical experience, in a professional office setting, or degree equivalent.
  • Strong background in procurement, marketing, or sales.
