Retail. This role is for an Online Assistant who supports a joyful shopping experience for our online customers, ensuring they get everything they shop for at Sainsbury’s.

Early shift: 04:00 – 08:00

• Picking and selecting the best quality products on the shop floor that online customers have ordered, ready for delivery to their doorsteps, or providing substitutions when products are out of stock
• Using a handset to plan your route around the store, select items, and manage time to complete each shop
• Handling customer queries behind the scenes, processing orders, and helping to load vans for Home Delivery Drivers
• Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and proactively offering help
• Building strong knowledge of products, services and promotions to provide recommendations
• Working flexibly across the store as required

• Happy with early starts (many shifts begin at 4am) and able to work in a fast-paced, physical environment
• Friendly and welcoming with a genuine enthusiasm for helping customers
• Good at using initiative to solve problems and taking responsibility for tasks
• Willing to work flexibly to a high standard across the store and learn new skills
• Comfortable learning to use new digital tools and technology, and able to move shopping containers up to 15 kg
• Attention to detail, keeping the store clean and well-presented to create the best shopping experience

• Night shift premium – in addition to the hourly rate, a further £2.45 per hour for hours between midnight and 5am (where applicable)
• Discount card – 10% off at Sainsbury’s, Argos, Tu, and Habitat after four weeks; increases to 15% at Sainsbury’s every Friday and Saturday
