Merchandiser - FMCG

Our client, a key player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a meticulous and proactive Merchandiser to join their team in the Paarl, Western Cape area. This role is essential for ensuring that our client's products are displayed optimally in retail environments, driving sales through effective visual merchandising and stock management. You will work closely with store managers and sales teams to implement merchandising strategies, maintain product availability, and enhance brand visibility.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of retail merchandising principles, and a passion for the FMCG market in the Western Cape. • Implement and maintain effective product merchandising plans in retail stores according to company standards and brand guidelines.
• Ensure product availability on shelves, monitor stock levels, and report any stock discrepancies.
• Organize and display products in an attractive and accessible manner to maximize sales potential.
• Set up promotional displays and point-of-sale materials as required.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with store staff and management.
• Monitor competitor merchandising activities and report findings to the sales team.
• Ensure products are correctly priced and labeled.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of product displays.
• Gather feedback from the retail environment to inform merchandising strategies.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations in all work areas.

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in merchandising, retail operations, or a related field, preferably within the FMCG industry.
• Strong understanding of visual merchandising principles and retail display techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Familiarity with the retail environment in Paarl and surrounding areas.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift products as needed.
• Basic understanding of sales principles is a plus.
