Area Manager - Retail Operations

Our client, a prominent fashion retail brand, is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Area Manager to oversee multiple store locations in and around Benoni, Gauteng, ZA . This role is pivotal in driving sales performance, ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining high standards of customer service across all assigned stores. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a passion for retail, excellent people management skills, and a deep understanding of retail operations and visual merchandising.

This is a field-based role requiring regular travel to stores within the designated area, with administrative tasks often managed on-site or from a home office. We seek a motivated individual who can inspire teams, achieve targets, and contribute significantly to the brand's success in the East Rand region. • Manage and supervise a portfolio of retail stores within the assigned geographical area.
• Drive sales performance and profitability for all stores by implementing effective sales strategies and operational plans.
• Ensure consistent execution of brand standards, visual merchandising guidelines, and store presentation.
• Recruit, train, develop, and motivate store managers and their teams.
• Monitor store performance against KPIs, including sales, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
• Implement company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance across all locations.
• Manage inventory levels, stock control, and loss prevention strategies.
• Provide coaching and support to store managers to improve performance and address challenges.
• Conduct regular store visits to assess operations, provide feedback, and ensure adherence to standards.
• Foster a positive and customer-centric culture within all assigned retail locations.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in retail management, with at least 2 years in an Area Manager or multi-store management role.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving operational excellence in a retail environment.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Excellent understanding of retail operations, visual merchandising, and customer service principles.
• Proficiency in retail POS systems and basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• A valid driver's license and own reliable transport for frequent travel within the area.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and occasional evenings as required by store needs.
