We are actively seeking a results-oriented West Texas Sales Representative to grow our footprint in the region and support sales of our RCS products,
GARNET and DURASAND
, as well as our newly launched product WTX Super Sand
. This is a remote position that requires regular travel throughout West Texas to engage with new and existing clients, as well as travel to Houston/DFW.
The West Texas Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales growth in the premium proppant marketplace. This includes developing new business opportunities, managing a portfolio of existing accounts, and positioning Preferred Sands’ products as the performance standard in the industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2B sales, deep familiarity with the oil and gas industry, and a proven ability to build lasting customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities- Market Development: Conduct market research to identify new and expanding opportunities in West Texas. Evaluate competitive pricing, market share, and customer needs to implement winning sales strategies.
- Account Management: Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers. Ensure satisfaction through proactive support and by resolving issues related to delivery, packaging, invoicing, and service.
- New Business Acquisition: Generate new leads from a variety of sources including business directories, industry news, and personal networking. Travel throughout the territory to meet with prospective clients and present solutions.
- Technical Consultation: Assess client-specific application needs and work closely with production and quality control teams to ensure product alignment. Coordinate with production management to maximize sales of both core products and co-products.
- Sales Execution: Prepare and present pricing proposals, negotiate contracts, and establish credit terms. Ensure proper documentation and timely reporting of all sales activities and customer interactions.

Experience:
Serve as a reliable point of contact to ensure on-time product delivery and high service standards throughout the customer lifecycle.
- 5–7 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in the oil & gas, industrial materials, or energy sectors
- Strong knowledge of frac sand or proppant-related products is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, high-travel role
- Willingness and ability to travel 50% or more throughout West Texas
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Geology, or related field preferred
