Position
:
The Microsoft Solution Sales Executive (MSSE) is responsible for identifying new business opportunities and key trends in the government and education sector, growing solution sales and services within the Federal Government and SLED, and expanding Microsoft services across the customer base. The MSSE works under the Manager of Microsoft Solutions and Services Sales to develop and execute territory strategies, forecast opportunities, and drive the full sales cycle from opportunity creation to close.

The MSSE develops executive relationships with customers and the IT channel and collaborates with the Regional VP of Sales and the assigned sales team to exceed quarterly goals and quotas.

Responsibilities

  • Provides territory intelligence and serves as the go-to resource for Microsoft opportunity development within the Sales team.
  • Identifies, forecasts, and pursues opportunities through the entire sales cycle, from opportunity creation to close.
  • Prospects and identifies key business transformation opportunities, delivering the Connection/Microsoft value proposition including sales, managed/professional services, and customer success to expand Microsoft services and technology adoption.
  • Develops and maintains strong executive relationships with customers and throughout the IT channel.
  • Executes proactive business objectives and strategies to exceed quarterly services, sales, and profitability goals.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with Microsoft field sales teams within the territory.
  • Travel required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT/technology sales, selling into Director level or above, with emphasis on developing and growing customer accounts.
  • Working knowledge of the IT Value-Added Reseller Channel including familiarity with manufacturers, distributors, service providers, and IT products.
  • Experience selling the Microsoft technology stack.
  • Experience in selling services and/or managed services.
  • Negotiation skills with the ability to close sales.
  • Experience with Account Management, including generating new business and exceeding consumption-based targets.
  • Ability to multi-task, respond to rapid change, manage projects, manage detail, manage people and resources, and set achievable goals/objectives and timelines.
  • Clear written and oral communication skills.
  • Adept at proactively finding business opportunities within the existing customer base.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop long-term plans leveraging resources.
  • Organized and able to document activities, anticipate problems, plan schedules, and monitor performance against priorities and deadlines.
