Overview
Riviera River Cruises is seeking a Regional Sales Director to drive sales growth and market share in the designated region. This remote position covers the West Coast, with the Head Office in Fort Lauderdale. The role requires a hunter mentality and proven experience in river cruise, luxury travel, or ocean cruising.
This is a full-time position; candidates are expected to reside in the designated territory.
Position SummaryAs the Regional Sales Director, you will develop and execute innovative sales strategies, leverage technology to optimize results, and build strong relationships with key travel partners. You should be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of leading a dynamic sales team to exceed targets in a competitive luxury travel market.
Key Responsibilities- Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and increase market share within the region. Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth. Proactively identify new business opportunities and pursue them with a relentless drive to achieve and surpass revenue goals. Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective sales campaigns and promotional activities.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key travel agencies, tour operators, and other distribution partners. Negotiate contracts and agreements to maximize sales opportunities. Represent the company at industry events to promote the brand and expand the customer base. Monitor and report on sales performance and use data analytics to inform decisions. Leverage CRM systems and other technologies to monitor performance.
Prepare and manage the regional sales budget. - Customer Focus: Ensure a deep understanding of customer preferences and needs, particularly in the luxury river cruise segment. Work with customer service and operations teams to deliver a seamless experience from booking to post-cruise follow-up.
- Substantial sales experience in the travel industry with a focus on luxury travel or river cruises.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and leading high-performing sales teams.
- Experience managing relationships with travel agencies, tour operators, and other distribution partners.
- Ability to take initiative and thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to analyze market trends and data to drive decisions.
- Proficiency with sales technologies, including CRM systems and data analysis tools.
- Commitment to excellence and a strong work ethic; ability to travel within the region and internationally as required.
- Tenacious work ethic with an entrepreneurial mindset and comfort with technology-driven sales processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
