The Role:Halcyon is looking for a highly motivated Sales (Business) Development Manager to join our growing sales team. In this role, you will be responsible for Halcyon’s revenue generation engine by delivering pipeline at scale to our Sales counterparts. We will do this through a focus on people, process, and tools. The Sales and Business Development organization will be anchored in a culture focused on the development & training of its employees, incubating talent across the company, teamwork, and celebrating success.
The ideal candidate is someone with strong communication skills, a proactive approach to coaching and leadership, and a passion for the cybersecurity industry.
- Drive Halcyon’s new business pipeline growth
- Identify, hire, and mentor top talent to develop their foundational sales skills while giving opportunities to elevate their careers into advanced roles at Halcyon
- Motivate and empower the team to be successful in a distributed work environment
- Regularly report on key metrics and KPIs in executive level reporting
- Standardize best practices regarding inbound prospect qualification, outbound prospecting, and sales hand‑over.
- Establish and optimize standards for lead routing, scoring, response time, cadence, and messaging quality.
- Make people, process, and technology improvements that will lead to better utilization, efficiency and productivity of the sales process.
- Work with sales and marketing to define and refine process and strategy to improve the effectiveness of the function
- Work closely with Field Marketing and Marketing on campaign strategy follow up
- Develop strategic Go‑To‑Market initiatives
- Working with Regional Directors and Demand Generation on territory development
- Refine and evolve a scalable, measurable and predictable process for running and growing the team
- Market Intelligence
:
Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and ransomware threats to communicate value effectively.
- 1‑3 years of experience in a sales development or business development role, preferably in the cybersecurity or technology industry.
- Has had prior team leadership experience (1+ years) leading highly functional SDR/BDR teams in the past
- Familiarity with both outbound and inbound business development tactics, and KPI’s
- Demonstrative executive presence and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Proven success aligning key stakeholders such as Marketing, Sales, Operations, and BD.
- Self‑starter with ability to function independently and in a timely manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of the cybersecurity landscape, especially ransomware threats, is a plus.
- Experience with CRM and Sales systems (Salesforce, Salesloft/Outreach, Nooks, Navigator, Zoom Info, Gong, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding team sales targets and KPIs.
