ERS-Director Electrical Technical Sales - Remote

The position is accountable for formulating sales goals and objectives, as well as implementation strategies for growing profitable sales for a defined geography. This is accomplished through the direct management, mentorship and coordination of ERS’ outside and inside sales resources. This position will be driving all ERS products for the electrical testing division and will be responsible for orders, margin, and team engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Administer all phases of the sales management process to insure effective and timely customer service and response.
  • Formulate, communicate, implement and evaluate strategies and tactical sales plans.
  • Evaluate inside and outside sales performance.
  • Provide coaching and developmental support to continuously improve capabilities of the sales team.
  • Directly supervise the Sales Engineers for the Electrical Testing Services organization.
  • Partner with customers to plan strategies, provide quality service, train personnel and provide support as necessary for attainment of goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement partnering strategies with LBP’s (Local Business Partners), support and training of LBP’s sales teams, annual business planning and coordination of local marketing efforts.
  • Identify key organizations and channels to market supporting Alternative Energy/Energy Storage and expand ERS’ relationships with those groups to drive new Compliance program opportunities.
  • Define markets, work with market product management to identify market potential and appropriate sales strategies for Western Region.
  • Implement national/state/local marketing programs as necessary.
  • Provide evaluations of new service programs, marketing research and literature development.
  • Communicate effectively with operations teams to drive customer satisfaction and growth as a member of the senior management team.
  • Participate in quarterly meetings, planning, and special projects benefiting the commercial organization.
  • Roles include Inside Sales Engineer, Sales Engineers of varying levels, and Business Development Manager; align team members with the Major Account Team and leadership.
Qualifications
  • Graduate Engineer (BSEE/BSME) and 10-15 years of management of a sales team.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, 50% overnight travel required covering sales territory.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of electrical distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards associated with ERS’ Compliance/Alternative Energy Solutions (NERC, NFPA 790 and 791) – a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Organize and execute multiple activities, manage resources efficiently.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, talk and hear; competency for close vision required for construction site walk‑throughs and work with electrical equipment.
  • Travel: 50% of time.
