Your Role:
The Imaging Field Application Scientist (FAS) role is part of the Miltenyi Commercial Sales team and supports our Imaging portfolio from pre-sales to post-sales for both Ultra Microscope II/Blaze (Lightsheet Microscope) and MACSima (Spatial Biology). The FAS is responsible for coordinating pre-sales demonstrations with the Sales team (Blaze Lightsheet only), leading initial customer training, and continued support post-training which includes workflow support and troubleshooting, account management for their assigned territory, and re-trainings when needed.
Imaging FASs regularly provide technical seminars for both prospective and current customers. Additionally, you will assist in the adoption of Miltenyi Biotec reagents and consumables by promoting products to customers when relevant.
The ideal candidate has a background in confocal microscopy, light sheet microscopy and/or spatial biology, is a self-starter, enjoys teaching, and is an effective communicator, both written and verbally. They are able to manage customers with varying levels of knowledge/scientific background who study a variety of applications. The candidate must be able to work in a matrix organization with multiple teams involved in the management of the same territory.
The candidate will travel up to 70% of their time within their territory, nationally, and internationally, depending on the team’s needs.
- Act as the primary field support for the UMII/Blaze and MACSima install base providing onsite training.
- Provide ongoing technical/application support of existing customers with UMII/Blaze and MACSima, including on-site visits and remote support.
- Coordinate on site Ultra Microscope Blaze demonstrations with Spatial Biology Specialists and leads technical onsite demonstration.
- Conduct routine follow up post installation/training for existing UMII/Blaze and MACSima customers.
- Plan and manage time and territory plan to ensure adequate coverage across territory and accounts.
- Prepare and deliver presentations and/or seminars for both pre-sales and post-sales customers. Attend conferences as needed.
- Perform on-site customer care visits either with their local Spatial Biology Specialist or solo.
- Travels domestically and internationally as required 70%
- Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field (Ph.D. strongly preferred). Strong proficiency in confocal microscopy and/or spatial biology;
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in biological sciences, microscopy, immunology, or molecular biology, including at least 2 years focused on confocal and/or spatial biology. - Must possess a valid driver’s license, evidence of insurance/ insurability, and ability to receive appropriate clearance to access restricted government accounts.
- Preference given to candidates with customer facing experience.
