We are hiring an Oncology Sales Specialist for the Boston territory (CT, RI, most of MA, NH, and ME) who will help us expand our oncology diagnostics portfolio.
Position SummaryThe Oncology Sales Specialist (OSS) is an oncology diagnostic sales representative who serves as an overlay specialist. The OSS supports oncology customers, identifies new opportunities, coordinates with Territory Business Managers (TBMs) and the Regional Director (RD), and works to grow new and existing products.
Core Responsibilities- Strong knowledge of Neo Genomics products, services, policies, and the payer/reimbursement landscape.
- Achieves annual sales and/or profit goals through efficient management and customer satisfaction within the assigned region.
- Works with TBMs to engage Tier A, B, and C accounts.
- Engages Key Account Managers (KAMs) and Customer Success Services (CSS) to increase account value.
- Facilitates access to oncology groups based on hospital or oncologist landscape, buying patterns, and clinical needs.
- Supports all oncology‑based customers in the territory with consultative sales of molecular products.
- Proactively reviews the current and prospective customer base to target sales pursuits for new or existing products and facilitates introductions to oncology practices.
- Provides frequent market feedback on products, competition, and market conditions to the Regional Director.
- Develops and maintains territory‑specific information on competitors and distributors.
- Generates ideas that contribute to the territory, region, business unit, and company mission.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related business field (MBA preferred).
- 5+ years of consistent success in oncology sales in diagnostics or pharma (products and services).
- Strong closing skills; prior attendance at formal sales training courses a plus.
- Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills at all levels of the organization.
- Proven oral, written, telephone, and presentation skills.
- Extensive knowledge of clinical and/or laboratory market environment and products.
- Ability to learn and retain product‑specific information and position the features and benefits to customers.
- Ability to work under deadline pressure and, if needed, work extra hours on assignments.
- Valid driver’s license for state of residence.
Travel as required by the role (up to 75% of the time). Some overnight travel may be required.
Remote work is possible.
