Technical Sales Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Sales Engineer to join our team. This role is based in Aberdeen, UK but we will consider remote working in the UK with regular visits to our Head Office in Aberdeen. You will play a key role in developing and growing IK Trax’s presence in the global pipeline market. You will work closely with the commercial team on bids, build strong relationships with new and existing customers, and represent the company at events worldwide.

This role is ideal for someone with a background in pipelines or instrumentation who enjoys travelling, meeting people, and driving results.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and convert new leads into customers.
  • Develop and maintain existing relationships with customers to achieve and exceed sales targets.

    Maintain communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services and enhancements.
  • Understand customer needs and suggest appropriate products.
  • Deliver presentations and demonstrate how products meet client needs.
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements.
  • Represent IK Trax at events and exhibitions globally.
  • Support marketing with content creation.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management.
  • Collaborate with Technical Subject Matter experts to convert sales.
  • Submit quotes to clients and follow up as necessary.
  • Prepare reports as requested.
  • Record and maintain client contact and inquiry data.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in English plus another language is desired
  • Ability to travel globally as required.
  • Previous experience in pipeline pre-commissioning, pipeline inspection or instrumentation is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in outside sales role preferred.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Self-starter with a track record of delivering and driving results.
  • Ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations.
  • Highly organised and able to work in a fast-paced, result-oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexible and approachable.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer-focused and results-driven.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Experience with CRM Package (e.g Hubspot, Salesforce)
  • Ability to prioritise workload and make constructive recommendations for business improvement.
