- Proactively solicit new residential mortgage clients and cultivate a strong business network of referrals.
- Analyze a borrower's financial and credit data to determine creditworthiness and the probability of repayment.
- Originate sales by contacting prospective clients.
- Develop and maintain referral sources.
- Spend time outside of the office to originate loans (at least one to two hours a day, two or more times a week, including a home office).
- Meet with prospective clients at locations outside PRMI offices (e.g., client’s home or other locations).
- Meet with clients in person to present mortgage loan products/packages.
- Contact with clients by telephone, mail, and e-mail to supplement in‑person contacts.
- Obtain credit information and necessary documentation for the application process.
- Make in‑person calls outside the office on real estate agents, brokers, financial advisors, and other potential referral sources to develop borrower leads.
- Engage in marketing and promotional activities to support personal sales.
- Develop new and continued business opportunities by cultivating relationships with realtors, builders, bankers, and other referral partners.
- Develop solid PRMI product knowledge and offer clients the best mortgage products to meet their needs.
- Review application information and request supporting documentation as needed based on loan investor guidelines.
- Analyze and exercise independent judgment in advancing PRMI’s objectives and customers’ interests regarding significant financial decisions.
- Carry out major assignments affecting business operations, including collecting and analyzing customer income, assets, investments, and debts; analyzing applicant data, credit, and collateral property value; determining which financial products best meet customer needs; and providing advice on the advantages and disadvantages of available products.
- Completes necessary continuing education timely and remains current on local real estate and mortgage industry developments.
- Provides origination services in the state of licensure.
- Creates and maintains excellent business relationships with referral clients to create new mortgage lending opportunities.
- Corresponds, communicates, and coordinates with clients, in‑house support staff, and external service providers to facilitate timely closings.
- Sales experience in the mortgage industry is preferred.
- Familiarity with mortgage processes, procedures, rules, regulations, and compliance.
- Exceptional customer service skills with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including working knowledge of MS Office.
- Ability to comprehend and analyze financial information.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present complex financial information while fielding questions from applicants, support staff, and management.
- Established contact and referral list within the real estate and mortgage industries preferred.
- Ability to pass a required background check.
