POSITION OVERVIEW

Milliken Flooring is searching for a Commercial Account Manager to join the Canadian Sales team covering Ottawa and the Maritime Provinces. The specific role manages all aspects of current contract sales and new account acquisitions in the territory. The ideal candidate should possess strong experience and knowledge of the contract sales process and preferably knowledge of the contract and hospitality carpet industry.

We are looking for someone with comprehensive knowledge of the local A&D industry - capable of specifying and selling through this segment, and experience in seeking and developing annuity business with end users. This person should have evidence of

strategic relationships with key decision makers in the territory and the ability to see the “big picture” by assessing, prioritizing, navigating and quickly adapting to complex situations in key projects. This person also needs to have strong listening and communication skills used to identify customer needs and encourage customers to specify and purchase Milliken flooring products. In order to strengthen key relationships and secure specifications on must win projects, this person will need to be able to work flexible hours.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The successful candidate will meet and exceed all revenue and growth goals assigned.
  • Develop, plan, and execute sales and marketing strategies within assigned A&D, End User, and Dealer accounts.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed sales strategy for each target aimed at retention/penetration to gain targeted market share within specified segments.
  • Establish, develop, strengthen, and maintain relationships at all levels of assigned A&D and End User accounts.
  • Promote the Company brand in the marketplace.
  • Support commercial dealer channel strategies and relationships to fully maximize contracting opportunities and market coverage.
  • Ability to spend approximately 1 week, every 6 weeks in Maritime Provinces as needed.
  • French language skills a plus.
  • Manage all aspects of day-to-day account management.
  • Identify winnable projects. Fill and maintain a workable pipeline.
  • Involvement in industry trade organizations. ARIDO/Core Net, etc.
  • QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • Must reside in the Ottawa market area.
  • Qualification
  • 3+ years’ direct industry sales or relevant experience.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% within and outside assigned territory.
  • Well-developed communication and execution management skills.
  • Must be a self-starter, experience with working from home office with limited supervision.
