This remote-based sales position is ideal for candidates based in Kansas City, working from home to cover a regional sales territory. The Regional Account Manager will support and grow profitable SICK sales and market share within defined strategic industries in the region.

Mission of the Role

To provide a trusted advisor and main point of contact to customers, introduce and sell SICK solutions and services to existing and new prospects, and drive market share within named accounts through strategic collaboration with the Team Selling unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the trusted advisor and primary contact for customers, introducing and selling SICK solutions and services to grow market share.
  • Work strategically with the Team Selling unit to meet individual and team goals.
  • Develop business in the defined customer list, engaging SICK solution experts for opportunities beyond standard solutions.
  • Maintain accurate data in the company’s CRM system for visibility and collaboration.
  • Build direct customer relationships by understanding their business needs, production applications, and industry technical language.
  • Apply consultative sales techniques and solutions, differentiating offerings to improve customer production quality control and efficiency.
  • Provide an excellent customer experience and manage customer communications for named accounts.
  • Identify and qualify business and customer opportunities and threats; understand account potential and competitive positioning.
  • Generate new leads and opportunities through product, industry, and client research.
  • Introduce new SICK products, solutions, and services with urgency and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Leverage the Team Selling unit and external specialists to maximize share of wallet.
  • Develop strategic account plans for target customers and opportunities.
  • Pursue Sales Excellence by developing skills, knowledge, and competencies for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in trade shows and deliver marketing and sales presentations to technical societies.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications
  • Experience:

    Prior sales experience selling complex, high-technology industrial automation solutions and sensor products. Prior technical industry experience outside of sales is preferred.
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with an orientation toward technical sales.
  • Position-specific qualifications:
    • High degree of direct sales skills and implementation of account sales plans.
    • Consistent achievement of sales plans and leadership in corporate sales strategies.
    • Leadership in sales and opportunity assessment.
    • Utilization of the team selling unit to solve problems locally.
    • Flexible, resilient, and open to change.
    • Self‑starter with strong motivation for continuous learning.
    • Attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
    • Collaboration across multiple functions.
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Computer skills:
    • Professional competence in Microsoft Office tools.
    • Experience with CRM systems.
  • Language:
    Professional written and spoken fluency in English required.
  • Schedule:

    Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work if required.
  • General working conditions:
    Able to work in an office environment; flexible arrangements.
  • Travel:
    Ability to travel regionally up to four days a week.
  • Physical demands:
    General office environment; screen time >4 hours a day.
  • Work status:
    Legally permitted to work in the country; willing to undergo background check; not eligible for sponsorship.
Compensation
  • Starting Base Annual Salary Range: $83,640 – $126,500
  • Bonus Eligibility:
    Variable sales commissions based on company and individual performance.
