Outside Sales Representative
Acme Construction Supply
Base salary: $45,000/year + commissions; estimated take home $90,000–$150,000 including vehicle reimbursement program.
SummaryThe Outside Sales Representative is responsible for identifying new opportunities, qualifying prospects, establishing relationships, and building partnerships. By developing high‑trust relationships, providing outstanding service, bringing new ideas, solving problems, and providing industry expertise, each individual works as an ambassador to the company's brand, services, and values.
Duties & Responsibilities- Prepare a sales action plan and strategy, including scheduling sales calls weekly with purpose and relevant customer details.
- Conduct joint sales calls with vendors as directed.
- Present product demonstrations as necessary.
- Track and respond timely to all customer sales inquiries and concerns to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Participate in sales and marketing events.
- Provide education to customers about products and services.
- Maintain awareness of pricing, service opportunities, and sales guidelines.
- Identify and recommend additional items or promotions to maximize customer satisfaction and profitability.
- Promote surplus, sale, discounted, and obsolete inventory to customers.
- Communicate inventory or pricing discrepancies to management.
- Develop and maintain product and inventory knowledge through training and independent study.
- Participate in educational opportunities offered by vendors.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years sales experience or equivalent in construction supply/distribution.
- Valid driver’s license and meet company auto insurance standards.
- Decisive thinker, analytical, and robust decision maker.
- Collaborative, works well with varied stakeholders.
- Advanced industry product knowledge.
- Advanced communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and conflicting timelines.

- Must safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Function well in office, warehouse, and construction job sites.
- Perform tasks at computer terminal with consistent phone use with customers and buyers.
- Ability to conduct Life‑Size video conferencing from home office.
- Travel across sales region (Oregon, Washington, California, Nevada, Arizona) and occasionally within North America.
