Your role
As a Virtual Sales Engineer, your mission is to act as a single point of contact for customers for both pre- and post-sale activities, take ownership of the open territory, and re-engage lapsed service customers to drive sales. You will report to the Customer Success/Virtual Sales Manager.
You will:
- Act as a single point of contact for customers providing pre- and post-sale activities for sales under a prescribed dollar amount and complexity.
- Collaborate and communicate with outside sales personnel to ensure full coverage of customer needs.
- Proactively follow up on warm marketing leads and requested quotes for the Service Business Line.
- Provide general information on all Service Products.
- Take ownership of open territory and lapsed service customers to drive sales.
- Work with applications and tech support teams to offer product alternatives that best meet customer requirements and support sales objectives.
- Recognize that a customer of one product may also purchase other Leybold products and set up leads for new equipment, field service, and service contract opportunities.
- Contribute to the satisfaction of all business lines with enhanced performance to create experiences that lead to higher efficiencies and improved performance.
- Demonstrate proactive selling of Leybold service products. Identify opportunities for expanding sales through additional options and complementary products.
- Maintain customer databases.
- Document customer activity using our CRM.
- Build professional network opportunities quickly and effectively by visiting labs and factories to better understand our operations.
- Foster a company culture starting with early-career employees to gain comprehensive understanding aligned with our Group's expectations.
- Learn the role effectively in an office environment with immediate access to colleagues for assistance.
- Promote sustainability through in-office work to reduce commuting time and costs, enhancing operational efficiency and minimizing environmental impact.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- 1-3 years of experience in a technical discipline, business, or marketing with technical aptitude is preferred.
- B.S. degree in Engineering, other Technical discipline, business, or marketing with a technical aptitude.
- Experience with vacuum equipment or selling technical products is a plus.
- CRM experience preferred.
- Excellent oral & written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products.
- Positive customer-focused attitude and successful interaction in a dynamic team environment.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Flexible and adaptable team player.
- A self-starter with a strong work ethic.
- Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license.
