At a GlanceLegrand has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Sales Representative to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Team
. While this is listed as a remote position, candidates must be located in the Eastern Iowa/Quad Cities area, as the role supports customers within that region.
The Senior Sales Representative is responsible for achieving assigned sales quotas and goals for customers located within a defined geographic territory or account list. This includes prospecting and developing business, responding to RFPs, and preparing proposals for customer presentations. The role also involves coordinating account resources with representatives from marketing, pre‑sales engineering, and development.
Most basic job duties have been mastered, and the incumbent is gaining exposure to more complex tasks. While guidance is still provided in several areas, more straightforward responsibilities are handled independently.
What Will You Do?- Establish and grow account/end user relationships to ensure that the corporate and territory goals are met or exceeded.
- Develop and manage territory business plans. This consists of expenses, sample budgets, end user presence. Completion of all reports in a timely and articulate manner.
- Work within the Engineer and consulting community. Utilize the EWS relationship to help promote and secure specifications.
- Establish a presence at the state and local government levels for inspectors and code awareness.
- Have a close working relationship with corporate functions, providing competitive feedback to pricing departments and working with product managers, technical support and customer service.
- Develop and maintain local training programs, alter corporate programs to suit individual territory needs. Train and educate customers and end users on the application, features and benefits of our products.

Education: Four‑year degree or equivalent experience.
Experience: 4–7 years of prior sales experience. Experience with electrical distribution channel or other similar distribution channel. Demonstrated track record of successful contractor sales.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Ability to listen, maintain focus, extract necessary information and validate understanding. Ability to craft and give presentations to diverse internal and external audiences.
- Understanding of commercial, residential, data‑center and industrial markets.
- Effective negotiation skills with empathetic ability and adaptability to a rapidly evolving business climate.
- Strong computer skills, proficient with software for analysis and presentations. Ability to use internet and web‑based resources efficiently. Knowledge of common business tools and
- Strong product knowledge and technical understanding; ability to provide hands‑on presentations of products to large groups.
- Solid understanding of the technology of our products and their application.
- Working knowledge of Digital Competence and ability to demonstrate applications as they evolve in our industry.

- Good knowledge and understanding for the End User and Contractor.
- Understand applications for the Facility Manager, who is often involved as the key customer.
- Understand customer needs and offer solutions at all levels of the customer, including mobile technology, security, and productivity.
- Pull the demand for Legrand solutions in key markets such as Hospitality, data centers, with key contractors and end users.
- Demonstrate collaboration skills with all levels of our customers and end users.
- Understand the personas of the various customers.
- Add value, tools and processes to the customer/contractor – take offs, drawings, and BIM.
- Good understanding of the LNCA journey map and use Design Thinking with interactions with our customers and end users.
