Job Description: Reporting to the Director of Domestic Sales, the Principal, U.S. Army Programs serves as the capture lead for U.S. Army follow‑on and new business opportunities with responsibility for meeting financial performance commitments regarding L3
Harris’ WESCAM MX series precision optical sensors and targeting systems business. This position requires the individual to be able to handle a broad range of competing priorities on a daily basis. The Principal, U.S. Army Programs will be responsible for selling company products, systems and/or services, and managing opportunities in all stages of the sales pipeline. He/she will also be responsible for providing marketing intelligence, developing business cases for market penetration, and executing capture strategies that maintain incumbency on existing programs and win new business.
In addition, he/she will conduct sales presentations and marketing activities including participation in trade shows, conferences, and product demonstrations.
- Meet or exceed annual sales targets as part of the domestic team by directing activities in the field to achieve sales goals in line with company growth plans.
- Travel to customer locations domestically and internationally and represent division at trade shows. Travel is expected 50% annually.
- Generate and increase a robust pipeline of sales opportunities in allocated portfolio.
- Capture customer requirements to influence L3
Harris WESCAM design solutions and successfully sell MX‑Series products and service plans to customers. - Promote current product capability and recommend the development of products or product enhancements expected to result in profitable business growth.
- Develop strategy for key pursuits.
- Identify customer growth opportunities through the capture of new or adjacent business opportunities.
- Stay engaged with and communicate with Program Managers and In Service Account Managers (ISAMs) to ensure existing business is positioned for follow‑on opportunities.
- Respond to all customer Request for Quotations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Work toward resolution of customer issues and concerns.
- Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior in accordance with company values.
- All other assignments as required.
- Secret Security Clearance required.
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in U.S. Army aviation airworthiness qualification and procurement, an optical, mechanical and / or electrical environment – previous military or federal agency experience preferred.
- 15+ years’ experience developing and executing strategies in a DoW environment.
- 10+ years’ experience in continuous improvement environment including root cause evaluation and corrective action reporting.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater
D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $146,000-$271,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $136,000-$253,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary; the final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
