Mission/Purpose of the JobThe EPC Chemical Sales Specialist is responsible for the sales of new equipment to EPC companies and A&E engineering companies supporting the Process Markets (Chemical, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical etc.) and the industry key end‑user accounts. They are responsible for communicating with the customer to facilitate both contract and bid management.
The EPC Chemical Sales Specialist is responsible for delivering on the sales targets established for this position through the establishment and maintenance of the sales relationship with each EPC and/or end‑user client/prospect in their portfolio at every level from the executive suite to departmental line managers to engineers to procurement.
The EPC Chemical Sales Specialist will promote Product, Services and Solution agreements that encompass all of Edwards Vacuum offerings and range in scale from short‑term consulting engagements to complex, multi‑service, multi‑year and global partnerships. Specific new sales/revenue targets are established annually by the Process Business Sales Manager for the EPC Chemical Sales Specialist.
Main Responsibilities- Bid management, including coordinating the various Inside Sales, Outside Sales, and Operations inputs that may be required for the timely completion of budgetary, firm or engineering‑only bids.
- Contract management, including the coordination of NDA and/or T&Cs reviews with the internal Legal, Sales and Compliance team as well as coordinating customer reviews of the same.
- Development of standard work and processes around the scheduling and completion of bid submittals.
- Maintaining accountability around having 3rd‑party bids reviewed for technical compliance to customer requirements.
- Aiding in negotiating resolution of pre‑sale technical and commercial issues.
- Participating in risk management activities as required for internal compliance.
- Maintaining performance measurements (actuals versus targeted estimates) for RFQ milestones.
- Assisting in developing strategies to win business (projects) through the competitive bidding process.
- Participating in and driving continuous improvement efforts to improve bid delivery times, risk mitigation and customer satisfaction.
- Developing key client EPC and A&E relationships through all levels of the organization, including executives, engineers, procurement, quality and planning.
- Create and maintain client sales plans.
- With management, create entry strategies for new clients and projects.
- Utilize business and financial knowledge to create value propositions.
- Execute competitive sales tactics to win business.
- Secure Edwards Vacuum on the approved and preferred bidder’s list.
- Lead in client contract negotiations.
- To undertake ad‑hoc project work as required.
- University degree (Bachelor/Master’s) in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Result‑oriented and experienced professional (5‑10 years) with proven senior experience in rotating equipment industry, more specifically within the process industry (petrochemical, chemical, power, O&G).
