Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic, full-time Business Development Manager to join our team remotely, preferably residing in the western half of the United States. In this role, you will be responsible for driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and developing strategic plans to expand our reach. You will conduct market analysis, craft sales strategies, negotiate contracts, and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
Additionally, you will represent ARC at industry events and collaborate with internal teams to align efforts with our strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the freight forwarding and logistics sectors
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients and industry partners
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet revenue targets
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform business strategies
- Negotiate contracts and pricing terms with clients
- Maintain an active and accurate sales pipeline using CRM tools
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure customer needs are met and operational goals are achieved
- Represent ARC at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events
Qualifications:
- Proven success in business development, sales, or client acquisition within the logistics or freight forwarding industry
- Strong negotiation, relationship-building, and networking skills
- Experience in market analysis and strategic planning for growth initiatives
- Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation abilities
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales analytics tools
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively across teams
- Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
- Familiarity with global shipping, logistics operations, and industry regulations is a plus
Earning Potential & Compensation:
Compensation is based on experience, past performance, and any existing book of business the candidate may bring.
Base Salary:
The base salary range is $40,000 $ 120,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated sales success.
Commission Structure:
Commissions are calculated and awarded on a monthly basis. To qualify for commission in a given month, the salesperson must generate gross profits equal to three (3) times their annual base salary, prorated monthly (annual salary 12).
Once this threshold is met, the salesperson earns 10% of gross profits for that commission period. Commissions are generally paid approximately two months after the commission period, following successful account receivables collection.
Account Ownership:
Commissions and accounts do not sunset and do not convert to house accounts. As long as the salesperson actively services and maintains the account, they will continue to receive commission benefits from that business.
